These are the specific schools/traditions of yoga taught at TYV. In addition, many teachers have adopted and combined a number of styles from within the classical Hatha and Ashtanga lineage to create their own unique class format. These special classes will be having its description in the class schedule. We encourage you to find a class and yoga style that suits you.

Beginner’s Yoga

Beginner’s course gives you a solid foundation of yoga postures, movement, alignment and breathing techniques. Ideally we recommend that all those who are new to yoga to complete a TYV Beginner’s course. 4-8 weeks Beginner’s course.

Traditional Hatha

Traditional Hatha yoga classes comprise of all-encompassing yoga postures increases flexibility, mind-body coordination and release obstruction in flow of prana in the body, at a pace which follows “sthiram-sukham-asanam”. Hatha yoga classes are designed to align and calm your body, mind, and spirit in preparation for meditation. Beginner- Level 1, Intermediate – Level 2, Advanced – Level 3.

Vinyasa Flow

A dynamic flow style of yoga, harmonising breath and movement linking usual and unusual poses in a flow sequence, with modifications and intensifications to build agility, stamina, strength and grace. A certain level of fitness is required for intense Vinyasa flow. Level 1, Level 2, Level 3

Power Yoga

A strenuous and more fitness based approach inspired from Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga which focusses on robust yoga session in a vinyasa flow sequence. Considerable level of fitness and strength is required. Level 2, Level 3

Restorative Yoga

Specific restorative poses which are calming and soothing to the nervous system and provides relaxation to the adrenal gland, enabling the body to de-stress from all kinds of anxiety and move towards balance. Breath, mindfulness and meditation are integral to Restorative yoga.

Re-Coup Yoga

Therapeutic yoga sessions (both personal and group) aimed to rectify, treat and heal musculo-skeletal conditions involving joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles and nerves. These sessions aim to identify the primary cause of the condition as well as treat the symptoms, restoring normal movement patterns to prevent recurrence. We advise you elaborately discuss your ailments with the Yoga Therapy teacher.

Kids Yoga

In Kids Yoga sessions, yoga is introduced in the most subtle and assimilable way. Fun and learning go hand in hand for kids. Yoga is found to have positive effect on a child’s overall well-being, improves concentration, strengthens immunity and their confidence.

Class Levels

All are welcome to join the above classes. However, your safety is of utmost importance to us! So, before moving up on the level of class, please check with our teachers. The right level of class will be the most enjoyable class. Please feel free meet our teachers before class to let them know of any injury or illness which will help you to make most out of the session as the teacher will suggest modification and asanas suitable for you.

Open Level

Open to all levels from complete beginners to advanced yogis as the teacher adapts the class according to the students.

Level 1

Open to complete beginners, those in initial stages of yoga practice or those seeking a gentler asana practice.

Level 2

Works on deeper physical and psychological level. Postures are more challenging and prior yoga practice is required.

Level 3

It is for advanced practitioners who are well versed with good grounding principles of asana and breathing. Advanced postures beaded in an adventurous sequence.
